Oculoplasty

Oculoplasty — Eyelid, Orbit & Lacrimal Surgery

Oculoplasty covers a range of surgical procedures involving the eyelids, orbit (eye socket), and lacrimal (tear drainage) system. Surya Eye Care Center offers both functional and cosmetic oculoplastic surgeries.

Oculoplastic Conditions We Treat

We treat ptosis (drooping eyelid), entropion, ectropion, chalazion, orbital tumors, thyroid eye disease, lacrimal duct obstruction, epiphora (watering eye), and periorbital reconstruction after trauma or cancer.

  • Ptosis Correction — Lifts drooping upper eyelid to restore vision and appearance
  • Entropion / Ectropion Repair — Corrects inward or outward turning of eyelids
  • Chalazion Excision — Removal of eyelid cysts
  • Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) — Surgery to relieve blocked tear ducts
  • Orbital Surgery — Tumour removal and orbital wall repair
  • Enucleation / Evisceration — With prosthetic eye fitting

Oculoplasty Treatment Process

Each oculoplastic case is individually evaluated. Most procedures are performed under local anesthesia as day-care surgery.

Typical Oculoplasty Journey

Step 1: Clinical Evaluation & Photography — Step 2: Imaging (CT/MRI if needed) — Step 3: Pre-operative Consultation — Step 4: Surgery (local/general anesthesia) — Step 5: Post-op Care & Suture Removal

Expected Outcomes

Most oculoplastic procedures yield excellent functional and cosmetic results. Ptosis correction improves both the field of vision and appearance. DCR has a high success rate for relieving watering eyes.
